The PDC shifted the Players Championship dates around as they are making their debut on the BBC this weekend, for the Champions League featuring their top eight players in Cardiff.

But first came the Barnsley Metrodome on the Pro Tour, where Pallett could only boost his earnings on one occasion.

The darters first toed the oche on Tuesday afternoon, where Pallett came off second best 6-2 to Dirk van Duijvenbode in the first round.

Pallett returned to the same venue on Wednesday, where he got off the mark 6-4 against his friend Ricky Evans. Jermaine Wattimena reversed the verdict in the second round.

Thursday's third and final outing at the Metrodome saw him tumble out at the first hurdle again, 6-4 to Jelle Klaasen.
