Pallett made the cut for the German Championship in August, when a qualifier was held at the Barnsley Metrodome. The finals were at Der Halle 39 in Hildesheim.

The 26-year-old first toed the oche on Friday afternoon, where he defeated Brendan Dolan 6-3 to progress through.

He moved into a 4-1 lead and had chances to extend his advantage before Dolan pulled it back to 4-3, himself missing chances to level.

The final leg saw Pallett, who hit five 180s in the match, miss the bullseye for what would have been a cracking 170 finish. He returned to land double eight and go through.

He returned to the same venue to take on ninth seed Gerwyn Price in Saturday's opener, where both players battled to the last leg. Pallett punished missed attempts at doubles to win 6-5.

It set up another rematch with Mensur Suljovic, who has also beat him twice on the Pro Tour since they clashed at Alexandra Palace, on Sunday.

Pallett went down 6-4 and has never beaten the Austrian in four meetings, the first being a Players Championship tie in October of last year.
