Raheem Mohammed through to the semis
Raheem Mohammed will join his Shropshire compatriots in the semi-finals of the the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs Championships.
He booked his place in the last four of the competition with a quarter-final victory in Bedworth last Sunday,
Mohammed, who now represents the Len Woodhall Community Club in Madeley, already had one victory under his belt at 50kg in Class A, for boxers born in 2001.
He made it two after travelling to the Newdigate Social Club to take on Eoin Neeson, from Pegasus in Northern Ireland, defeating him unanimously after three rounds.
He is now preparing for action at the Croxteth Leisure Centre in Liverpool tomorrow, where he's been paired with Bridlington's James Precious.
Donnington's Bradley Thompson and Wellington Boxing Academy duo Shabaz Masoud and Saqub Shafiq will also compete on Merseyside.
Thompson is also in Class A, at 46kg, and comes into the reckoning to tackle Brian Stokes, of Burnley's Sandygate gym.
Shafiq is at 52kg, having previously scored a unanimous victory over Corby Olympic's Casey Stevenson for a bye past the quarters. He now has hometown fighter Harry Kinsella, from Kirkdale.
Stoke-based Masoud dumped out Donnington's Liam Davies after an all-Shropshire West Midlands final at 56kg in Class D (born 1995-97) on his debut for Wellington.
The 20-year-old now moves onto a semis tie against Ryan Daley, from North Star in Sunderland, as he vies for a place in the national final.
Len Woodhall's Max Weaver also compete on the Newdigate bill in a non-championship bout, halting Coventry Boys' Daniel Hasnain by second round TKO.
It's club show time for Len Woodhall's on Saturday night as they put on a card at the Kyushinkai Martial Arts Centre, Unit M on the Court Works Industrial Estate in Madeley, from 7pm.
