Oswestry returned to winning ways in South Lancs/Cheshire Two with a sizzling 44-17 success against previously unbeaten Crewe and Nantwich.

The return from injury of influential skipper Andy Howell proved the catalyst for what was a much-improved performance.

Rob Massam ran in three tries, with flanker Sam Wright adding a brace. Howell kicked 16 points to add to the visitors' woes.

"It is great to get back to winning ways," said coach Scott Sturdy.

"It's been a tough couple of weeks and it shows how important our skipper is to the team."
