Telford Hornets are hoping for the backing of the Shropshire sporting public as they aim to move a step closer a national rugby final at Twickenham tomorrow.

Hornets entertain their Midlands Four West (North) rivals Bloxwich in the last 16 of the Junior Vase – it is also a Midlands semi-final – at Town Park (2.15pm).

Victory would leave Hornets just two games away from reaching Twickenham, and captain Matt Evans is hoping for a boost from the touchlines.

"We would normally get anywhere between 30 and 80 for a league game but hopefully we can get more than that tomorrow," said Evans.

"We will watch England against Wales straight after our game and it would be great to still have the chance of getting to Twickenham ourselves."

Telford are one position and 11 points ahead of their rivals in the league.
