Bridgnorth hit form to bag the bragging rights

Bridgnorth sit third in the Midlands Two West North and left Ludlow in mid-table after a comprehensive 57-3 Shropshire derby win on their own turf.

The All Blacks recorded the best defensive record in the league and displayed their attacking skills by racking up nine tries, six of which were converted.

They all came from the boot of winger Will Biddell, whose ability with the dead-ball was tested from the start of a frenetic game.

They were up and running when Luke Stevens bombed down the wing to feed Biddell with a quick inside pass, Simon Fletcher then crashing over the line.

Biddell added the points and then found room to power his way through midfield and over for an unconverted try.

The All Black pack drove for the line Ludlow pulled the scrummage down and, as the referee played advantage, Darren Brick scored against his old club.

Will Crossley and Ash Bithell came on for Lewis Pitcher and Adam Sterling, and with Bridgnorth continuing to dominate, Biddell scored and converted his second try.

Ludlow finally got on the score-sheet with a lone penalty from Will Sparrow, before Sam Alvey evaded all of the visiting chasers to score in the corner.

Stuart Plant, Nick Davies and Gareth Bladen all added tries in the dying minutes, as Bridgnorth completed their league fixture list in style.

But they are likely to be overtaken by Moseley Oak, who have yet to play bottom club Aston Old Edwardians.

The Old Boys have lost every league match this season by an average of over 60 points.

Fifth-placed Bishop's Castle & Onny Valley finish up their Midlands Four West North season with a re-arranged home game against Greyhound on Saturday.

Telford Hornets complete their campaign with the visit of Birmingham Barbarians in Midlands Five West North, as they look to claim the title.
