Rugby bosses welcome Church Stretton to Midlands League structure
Church Stretton Rugby Club will enter the Midlands Leagues structure for the first time in their short history next season.
The newly-formed club, who were created last spring, have been accepted into Midlands Five West (North).
Church Stretton have become members of the Shropshire RFU and North Midlands RFU after playing a season of friendly matches during the last 12 months.
The club played their first match last August, a 19-8 defeat to county neighbours Bishop's Castle. They have fared better since, enjoying 10 wins from 18 further matches. Their appointment to the league will see them take on Aldridge, Birmingham Barbarians, Chaddesley Corbett, Essington, St Leonards, Stourport on Severn, Warley and Whittington next season.
Rugby bosses announced the development as it confirmed the Midlands league structure for next season.
Other moves which will affect sides in Shropshire see Worcester Wanderers' return to the Midlands Leagues. They will play in Midlands One West and will play Whitchurch and Newport among others.
Kidderminster Carolians and Stourbridge Lions have also been level-transferred from Midlands Two West (South) to Midlands Two West (North) meaning they will face Bridgnorth, Ludlow and Shrewsbury.
