Ludlow's Bryn Simmons keeps faith in same side

Ludlow skipper Byrn Simmons will keep faith with the same XI that went down to Worfield for Saturday's trip to Cound.

The Burway Lane side suffered their first defeat of the campaign last weekend but Simmons says his team will not be dwelling on the past.

He said: "It was a bad day at the office last weekend. They were very good so it was just one of those days.

"We need to make sure we bounce back and carry on the way we had been going.

"We had been winning up until the Worfield game, we have (only) lost one game and I have faith in the team."

Cound, who beat Allscott by three wickets last weekend, will start the game two places but only three points clear of their visitors.

And Simmons added that they have a good recent record against their hosts, who were promoted to the county's top tier two years ago.

He said: "We haven't lost to them home or away (in this division) but I think they have got a better team this year and it is about what happens on the day."

Meanwhile Newtown, ninth, will be aiming to push themselves up the table at home to seventh-placed St Georges tomorrow.

Second-placed Worfield will host in-form Wroxeter Grove, fifth, aiming to overhaul leaders Reman Services.

They have won four of their opening six games in the league but they will be meeting an equally fired up Wroxeter who have won three and drawn one of their five completed fixtures.

Only Wem have beaten them so far this season and they will enter the game with plenty of momentum.

Wroxeter will be missing opening batsman Bryan Jones though, who is away with Shropshire working as part of their coaching team, as well as Joe Pritchard. But skipper Rob Davies will come back into the fold along with Richard Bradford.
