Ludlow’s Jack Lines makes a break against Kidderminster

The Linney men had the game all but sewn up by the break after surging into a 22-3 lead.

Will Sparrow got the hosts off to a flying start with a try in the corner after less than two minutes.

Kidderminster reduced the deficit with a penalty following an infringement from the restart.

But the rest of the half was Ludlow’s with Anthony Marfell giving his opposite number a torrid time in the front row and Jim Alderson at open side causing problems for the Kidderminster fly half.

But it was the Ludlow backs who caught the eye as left wing Lawrence Hughes scored in the corner with Sparrow adding the extras.

No.8 Dan Rawlings produced some destructive runs and ripped the ball well and it was just such a rip that provided Ludlow’s third try for Mark Williams with Sparrow converting before adding a penalty to make it 22-3.

Kidderminster hit back with a converted try after the break but Ludlow finished strongly with Sparrow and Joe Doyle combining to send Mark Williams over fr a try.

The last score came courtesy of Tom Amphlett who beat his man and then laid off a lovely inside pass for Williams to touchdown.

Table-toppers Whitchurch made it seven wins from seven courtesy of a hard-fought 19-16 win at Leek.

Cleobury Mortimer went down 19-6 at Old Salteians.
