What the papers say

Luis Enrique may have to be prepared to accept a lower wage than his previous Barcelona salary if he hopes to succeed Antonio Conte at Chelsea, according to the Telegraph. The Spaniard is thought to have been paid around £16.5 million a year at Barca but that is significantly more than Conte’s £9.5million-a-year deal, the paper says. Speculation has been growing that Conte will leave Stamford Bridge in the summer, while Enrique is reportedly interested in making a move to the Premier League after stepping down from the LaLiga side last season.

Liverpool appear to be the front-runners to sign Napoli midfielder Jorginho, the Daily Star says. The 26-year-old has attracted much interest from the Premier League, with rivals Manchester United and Manchester City both said to be keen to bring the Brazilian to England. But the loss of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in January means Liverpool are the likely favourites to land the player as they look to bolster their midfield options.

Emre Can may soon have to decide on whether his future lies at Liverpool or with a move to Juventus, the Daily Mirror reports. It is believed Jurgen Klopp want to keep the in-form 24-year-old at Anfield as interest mounts over a potential free transfer this summer. But Juve are apparently growing frustrated at the delay in their bid to bring the midfielder to Serie A and have reportedly given the player a week’s deadline to decide on a move.
