Katie Boulter will aim to follow up her maiden Wimbledon victory when she faces 18th seed Naomi Osaka in the second round on Thursday.

The 21-year-old became the fourth British player to win a singles match at Wimbledon this year when she defeated Paraguay’s Veronica Cepede Royg.

Early starter

Boulter grew up in the upmarket Leicestershire village of Woodhouse Eaves. She began playing tennis aged four because her family played and was motivated by trying to beat brother James.

In 2015, Boulter was hit by a fatigue illness and was sidelined for a year. Although she has now recovered, she is mindful of not over-training or playing too hectic a schedule.

Fashion and Foxes

Boulter has ambitions to be involved in the fashion industry following her playing career. She is also a fan of the TV show Suits and Leicester City Football Club.
