The National Forest Adventure Farm, in Tatenhill, Burton, which is home to 40 acres of family farm park, opened its new venue space The Deer Barn in 2022. This summer will be the start of their new live music nights and outdoor Funk on the Farm events to bring the sounds of local bands and national favourites to the farm.

English singer-songwriter Mim Grey, who was described by musical legend Tom Jones as “his favourite singer”, will launch the first of the farm’s live music nights at The Deer Barn on Thursday, 11 July.

In August two outdoor summer nights will be introduced as part of Funk on the Farm where families can explore this year’s maize maze, sunflower fields and outdoor play areas, including the UK’s longest mega slide stretching 200ft, before sitting back and relaxing with the acoustic sounds of live music, barbecue food, licensed bar and fire pit seating areas.

Tom Robinson, who runs the National Forest Adventure Farm with his brother Ivor, said it was all about increasing the chances for families to soak up the summer vibes by enjoying live music in beautiful settings, he said: “Since launching the National Forest Adventure farm our aim has always been to help families to enjoy quality time together in the countryside. There is nothing more magical than sharing an evening of live music with loved ones.

“We are excited to be increasing our evening entertainment offer and allowing visitors to enjoy live music with friends and family and great food under the stars.”

Live music will also feature in this year’s firework celebrations with fun fair rides and entertainment after the successful launch of the new firework display last year which saw thousands enjoy the November display.

Tickets for the night with Mim Grey start from £18 with street food and a license bar available on the night. Doors open for the seated event from 7pm with Mim being joined by legendary guitarist Robbie MacIntosh who has supported The Pretenders, Norah Jones, Paul McCartney and John Mayer.

Funk on the Farm will be held on Saturday, 17 August and Saturday, 31 August with access to the farm’s 40 acres of outdoor space as well as street food and BBQs, licensed bar, fire pits and live local music.

This year’s firework display will be held on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th November and will include access to the outdoor areas as well as street food, licensed bar, live music and entertainment.

Other events are expected to be added as the farm looks to develop its night-time family friendly events.
