Charles Dickens classic to be performed at Ludlow church

One year on from our production of A Christmas Carol at St Laurence's Church in Ludlow, starring Steve Piper as Ebenezer Scrooge, we are returning to the venue on December 6 to put on Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, again in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

In fond remembrance of our dear friend Steve Piper, Two Score Theatre Co. presents a reading of the RSC’s version of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, in aid of Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Though he had recently been dismissed with the disease Steve lit up St Laurence’s Church with his Scrooge in our 2023 production of A Christmas Carol. This year we present Great Expectations in his memory.

David Lean’s 1946 movie conjured images of Pip, Estella, Magwitch and Miss Havisham from the page to the silver screen and the RSC’s adaptation, written by Nick Ormerod and Declan Donnelly, brings them to life for theatre audiences.

Directed by Kim Begley, who delivered A Christmas Carol to a full house last year, Two Score’s “radio play” presentation features music composed and performed by Steve Dunachie, David Gaukroger and Faith Brackenbury.

Two Score wish to thank Carl Walker of Wild Edric Media for technical support, Ludlow Assembly Rooms and St Laurence’s Church and Nick Hern Books for kind permission to perform the play.

Tickets £12 from ludlowassemblyrooms.co.uk or by calling 01584 878141.
