Changing perceptions: Shrewsbury charity that supports the homeless chat in the community

A gentleman at The Ark said that when he was sleeping outside a shop, he was accused by a passer by of 'being one of them who sit outside Tesco taking drugs'. He was upset by this as an older gentleman who had never taken drugs.

We discussed the incorrect preconceptions people have, and decided to make something positive of the situation so we headed off to clean and tidy in the town centre. 

"We were utterly delighted by the lovely conversations and feedback we received", said one of the team. "We had some great chats about The Ark and was even bought a cup of coffee by a grateful passer by."
