We celebrated the founding of Bicton and District WI on 10 December 1924 in style, with a dinner at the Corbett Arms in Uffington.

Over 50 members and guests attended and dressed for the occasion!

We enjoyed an excellent meal followed by after-dinner speaker Tricia Stewart, one of the original Calendar Girls. She was a funny and inspirational speaker, and it was hard to believe the first alternative WI calendar was 25 years ago. She told us of the making of the calendar, and of the huge amounts raised for Leukemia Research.

Guests included past presidents Carol Buxton and Jessica Pannett, and Shropshire Federation Chairman Bridget Thurgood.
