A 95-year-old former RAF veteran, now living at HC-One’s Bluebell View Care Home in Oswestry, has created a hand-crafted Christmas card for his majesty King Charles and Queen Camilla.

David Housden, resident at HC-One’s Bluebell View, set about making his festive creation during a craft session. He decided the card was so wonderful, he was going to send it straight to the Palace.

With the help of Bluebell View’s Wellbeing Coordinator Beverly Sterry, David posted the card to Buckingham Palace, and he is eagerly awaiting a response.

David said: “I admire and have a great respect for the royal family as they were the ceremonial head of the Armed Services and fastidiously tied to public duty.

“They make Britain great! And this card is fit for the King!”

Beverly stated: “David is an ardent Royalist and wrote a lovely note inside the card for the Royal Couple. He showed his humour and twinkle in his eye when he wrote that he was in a home for oldies.”
