Drama group get up to mischief and raise over £800 for charity
The collective noun for a gathering of rats is often called a mischief of rats. Well, the cast of Ruyton Amateur Theatrical Society (RATS) were up for mischief when collecting a seasonal wreath donated by Rustic Bloom Florist.
Shivering outside Café Eleven in Ruyton Xl Towns last weekend, John Guest of Rustic Bloom explained: “It’s now a tradition that some of the cast pop out in the Saturday matinee interval to pick up a wreath as a raffle prize”.
The RATS pantomime Hansel & Gretel enjoyed packed audiences for all five shows, with over 600 tickets selling within seven days. The speed at which tickets were bought was incredible, so too were the audience reactions to the panto “It just gets better and better!”
Over £800 was raised across the raffles at each performance and all the funds will be donated to this year’s chosen charities: Severn Hospice and The Hive, Shrewsbury.
The RATS would like to thank everyone who came to see the show as well as the businesses and locals who donated sponsorship funds or raffle prizes to raise money for the charities.
Ruyton Amateur Theatrical Society has been entertaining the community for over 40 years and prides itself on producing quality theatrical productions for all the family.
