The Hub, which is based at Nelson House, Whitecross Road, Hereford, brings together partners from across Herefordshire’s healthcare system. It is also the new home of the Urgent GP Out of Hours service run on behalf of Herefordshire General Practice by Taurus Healthcare. There is potential to offer further clinical services from the building, such as vaccinations and NHS Health Checks, in the future.

Dr Mike Hearne, Managing Director at Taurus Healthcare, said: “Our new Community Health Hub in Hereford will allow us to work more closely with partners drawn from across the health and social care, voluntary and community sectors. It will enable a greater level of collaboration and a focus particularly on preventative health care.

“Ultimately, we are hoping that it will help patients to stay well for longer and enable treatment of any health issues to be undertaken in a timely and appropriate way.”

As the UK’s biggest bank for small businesses, NatWest works collaboratively with customers to understand their needs and help them find solutions to support their businesses as they grow.

Manjit Kaur Kang, Healthcare Relationship Director at NatWest, said: “We are thrilled to work with the team at Taurus Healthcare to enable the opening of this new health hub in Hereford. The Hub will provide a vital service for local people thanks to the extensive improvements made to the building. These include the addition of new clinical consulting rooms and spaces to enable collaborative working between Herefordshire General Practice and their health and care partner.

“As biggest bank for small businesses in UK, we are proud to support Dr Hearne and the Taurus Healthcare team as they embark on a new journey with the healthcare hub.”

Taurus Healthcare is the GP Federation for Herefordshire. All 19 surgeries in the county, organised into five Primary Care Networks (PCNs), are members. Together they work to ensure General Practice resilience and improve patient access to general practice, 24/7.
