Whitchurch WI get creative at festive wreath-making workshop
David Wilson Homes recently hosted a wreath-making workshop in Shropshire to bring the community together through Christmas creativity.
Jasmine Dowley, owner of Jasmine’s Floral Fancies, ran the wreath-making session from a show home at Clockmakers, and gradually took members of the Whitchurch Women’s Institute through the inventive process.
The ladies of the WI group, who regularly socialise in Whitchurch, were invited by David Wilson Homes to the gathering ahead of the festive period.
Jasmine took the workshop attendees on a whistle-stop tour of how to convert individual wreath-making materials into a fully completed and decorated wreath for the doors of their homes.
In the two-hour session, those involved were able to follow along with the workshop, and under the guidance of Jasmine, left with their very own stunning, hand-made wreaths to adorn their homes.
Lesley Downward, Secretary at Whitchurch WI, said: “Thank you to David Wilson Homes for inviting us to the workshop. We all enjoyed the morning. Jasmine was such a good teacher and we all came home with lovely wreaths.”
Helen Lewis, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “With Christmas on the horizon, we wanted to provide an opportunity for the ladies at Whitchurch WI to add a personal touch to their homes and celebrate the magic of Christmas.
“Wreath-making is an activity that is growing in popularity, and we’d like to thank Jasmine for hosting a fantastic demonstration.”
