Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club president David Morris said the club needed extra hands if they were to maintain their current high level of fundraising for local charities and good causes.

During the month of December the club ran an extensive Santa sleigh programme as well as their traditional Tree of Light fundraiser.

“The pressure on our worthy existing members is immense and we are in desperate need of more charity-minded men and women to help us fulfil an exciting fundraising programme of events planned for 2025.

“We need to keep looking forward and hope that our ongoing programme of activities appeals to a wider audience willing to support our ambitions. Shrewsbury Severn Rotary has an unprecedented record of supporting local charities and deserving causes and we can only continue this level of commitment with more people willing and committed to come on board.

“At the same time, we enjoy friendship and fellowship on a fortnightly basis with a varied programme of interesting speakers which should also appeal to those looking for a new challenge in 2025.

“We are a most progressive organisation and some of our members joined Rotary on the formation of the club more than three decades ago.”

David added that the final amount raised from the 2024 fundraising should be available shortly and anyone interested in joining Shrewsbury Severn Rotary can contact gdmw@hotmail.co.uk
