In the Summer of 2024, Hands Together Ludlow carried out a survey to find out how many people volunteer in Ludlow and with how many different groups. 136 responses were received identifying 86 Ludlow-based organisations. The collective effort of hours given translates to an incredible social value of £294,595.24 annually, though this is just the tip of the iceberg.

To celebrate, Hands Together Ludlow contacted the organisations listed through the survey, and others, to create a poster for each of them to recognize and promote volunteering opportunities.

Teresa Bailey, Volunteer Coordinator for Hands Together Ludlow said: "Through funding from UKSPF we were able to produce A1 posters and partner with Ludlow Assembly Rooms to create the exhibition. We know there’s lots of volunteering happening in Ludlow, we have over 100 volunteers just at Hands Together, and we wanted to find out about other activity and celebrate all their work and the organisations they engage with. It’s incredible what all these people bring to the town and the opportunities to give back, meet new people and develop skills the organisations provide. We hope we can inspire others to give their time."

The Exhibition was opened on Monday, 6 January by Hands Together Trustee Graham Cheshire and Ludlow Town Mayor, Beverley Waite. Representatives from some of the featured organisations were present for the opening.

Volunteering is a fantastic way to meet people, learn new skills, and gain valuable experience while giving back to the community. If you’re interested, pop along to Ludlow Assembly Rooms to see the exhibition before Monday, 13 January.
