Sean found his passion for the optical industry when he first joined the Specsavers store on New Street in October 2017. He started his career working weekends before heading to Plymouth University to study optometry.

Upon completion of his degree, he rejoined Specsavers Wellington in July as a pre-registration optometrist. The pre-registration qualification allows individuals to gain hands-on experience while working towards becoming a fully qualified optometrist.

"I wanted to work in a profession that helps people," comments Sean. "When I saw the impact an optometrist could have on the customer journey and how interesting the job was, it was a no brainer! I feel really lucky to have had support from our store directors, Satinder and Emma during my pre-reg. We have such a brilliant team here in Wellington, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for my career."

Satinder Sidhu, store director at Specsavers Wellington adds: "Sean started his career with us by just working on Saturdays, but we quickly saw his potential and his passion for eye care. We’ve watched him grow, go off to university, and now return as a pre-registration optometrist, and as a team, we’re so proud of him. I speak for the whole team when I say we’re thrilled he decided to rejoin our team.”

Specsavers offers a range of career opportunities for those interested in the optical industry, from part-time roles to professional pathways.
