Telford company’s raffle raises over £4k for children's charity
Colleagues from a hyperscale rack integration and deployment company in Telford who held a raffle as part of a community initiative have raised over £4,716 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.
The team at Hyve Solutions chose Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity as one of two dedicated causes to support last year, spearheaded by the company’s team of mental health first aiders, who were keen to encourage colleagues to give back to their community.
Having been pleased to raise just under £2,000 for a local hospice at the start of the year, the team were determined to do the same for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity and focused in on their fundraising towards Christmas time.
With desirable gifts donated by colleagues, suppliers, contractors and Hyve Solutions itself, the raffle proved popular with hopeful team members buying tickets for their chance to win. Adding funds raised in another raffle competition to name a cuddly teddy bear, the team were overjoyed to learn that together they had raised nearly £5,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, more than they’d ever raised for any one charity before.
Kirsty Griffiths, Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist and Mental Health First Aider at Hyve Solutions, helped organised the raffle. She said: “Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity is such a relatable cause for so many of our colleagues. Whether they have experience of the hospital or just have or know children who we hope will never have to use it, we can all appreciate the incredible work that goes on there and it was our pleasure to do our bit and give back through our raffle.
“It was wonderful to see our workforce come together and dig so deep to take part and we’re absolutely thrilled to have been able to raise so much for a cause we’re all so passionate about.”
Katie Harris, Corporate Partnerships Officer at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We’re so grateful to Hyve Solutions for choosing us as one of their dedicated charities and for their support in 2024. The incredible funds raised through their raffles will help us create better experiences for countless young people and sick children, through the improvement of our hospital environment and helping to fund new equipment and research.”
