The Friday Singers, a ladies choir that meets in Shrewsbury on a Friday morning held its annual Christmas Concert in December and raised money with a collection from the audience. Every year the choir raises money for local charities with its summer and Christmas concerts and in 2024 the money from its Christmas Concert was donated to the Shrewsbury Branch of Parkinson's UK.

The Friday Singers were started in 2005 by a group of 16 ladies who used to sing together at a class in the Gateway Adult Education Centre in Shrewsbury. This year we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary with another Summer Concert. Currently the Choir has 47 members and new recruits are always welcome. There is no audition and any lady interested in joining can attend a free taster session on a Friday morning.
