Telford Hall Care Home supports Telford Interfaith Food Bank
Telford Hall Care Home, part of Sandstone Care, is supporting the Telford Interfaith Food Bank. The care home has opened its doors to the local community as a donation point, encouraging neighbours and visitors to contribute to this vital cause.
To further demonstrate their commitment, Maria Armstrong, the home’s activities co-ordinator, and resident Ian Wray recently volunteered at the food bank. During their shift, they assisted with sorting donations, packing food parcels, and learning more about the essential work the food bank carries out to support those in need.
This is just the beginning of a long-term partnership. Telford Hall is planning to make these volunteering sessions a regular event, with other residents expressing their eagerness to participate. The initiative not only benefits the community but also provides meaningful opportunities for residents to engage with local people.
Karl Jones, regional manager who works with Telford Hall, said: “We are delighted to be working with Telford Interfaith Food Bank to support such an important cause. Our residents at Telford Hall are passionate about helping others, and this partnership gives them the chance to make a real difference while staying connected with the community. We look forward to continuing this relationship and encouraging more people to get involved.”
The care home’s donation point is now open, and the team welcomes contributions from anyone wishing to support the food bank’s efforts. Items such as tinned food, dried goods, toiletries, and other essentials are particularly appreciated.
