Lesley’s Larder has become a cornerstone of  Wellington Market since it was launched by Lisa Longland and her mother Lesley.

Lisa now leads the enterprise alongside part-time help and occasional support from her mother during busy periods.

Since Brexit, Lisa has embraced a ‘keep it local’ philosophy, sourcing all of her products from local English suppliers.

Her collection of locally-produced cheeses now boasts around 30 varieties, such as a Cambozola made in Lincolnshire.

One of her earliest partnerships was with the now highly-successful Moyden’s Cheese a collaboration that has flourished over the years.

In addition to cheese, Lesley’s Larder offers a variety of regional delicacies, including Shropshire-made pies, pastries, butter, farm-fresh eggs, cakes, honey, jams, preserves, and chutneys.

Customers can also find Shropshire Spice Company products and Wigwig Water, sourced from a natural spring close to Much Wenlock.

The deli’s friendly, welcoming atmosphere has fostered a loyal customer base, with many patrons returning for nearly two decades.

“Our counter is a social hub,” Lisa said. "Where customers linger to catch up with old friends.”
