Splinters of Heaven, created by Shrewsbury light artist Andy McKeown, will be up at St Mary’s Church in St Mary’s Street this Thursday, February 20 from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

The show is to celebrate  the conclusion of ‘The Past, Present & Future of St Mary’s Stained Glass project, which tells the story of the windows, which span from the 14th to 19th centuries and includes stained-glass from the Netherlands, France and Germany.

The installation has been up in the church before, but this time Andy is hoping for visitors to get involved in a different way.

He said: “We are inviting visitors to make 10-15 second video clips of the falling glass for inclusion in a new permanent digital installation.

“I’ve just had a video from Max Ball which looks really good so that will be included.

“If they could send them to andy@wildstrawberry.com, preferably via WeTransfer, that would be ideal. Clips should be no longer than 15 seconds and unedited.

“If people want to be credited, we’ll include their name in a ‘Star Wars’ credit at the end of the installation.”
