Event to raise money to help parents of stillborn children smashes fundraising target

An event to help raise money for the Maternity Bereavement Unit at a Shropshire Hospital has raised more than £4,000.

The event took place at Caseys Cordingley Hall, and was attended by bereaved parents, their friends and families, with people travelling from far out of county to attend.

The evening January 4 was organised by Luna's Legacy which set up by Victoria and Allen Vespa, who lost their daughter Luna-Seren on January 4, 2020 at the Princess Royal Hospital at 37 weeks, and the night coincided with her fifth birthday..

Victoria said: “We have organised a number of events previously, and have already donated £6,300.00 to the trust.

“Luna's fifth birthday was a celebration of her short life and a chance to raise more money, to reach our target of £10,000 overall.”

She said music was provided by live band, The Review, who wowed the attendees with their talent and the ability to get everyone up and enjoying themselves.

“It was an amazing night, enjoyed by all,” added Victoria. “We raised a total of £4,170.00, taking us well over the £10,000.00 mark.

“We'd like to thank all those involved, and our local community who continues to support our fundraising efforts.”
