Salop fell to their 12th loss of the League One season on Wednesday as two goals in five second-half minutes saw the Tangerines come from behind to beat the struggling Shrews 2-1.

But with there being so many games there is always another opportunity to right the wrongs - and that presents itself this weekend with a relegation six-pointer against Cambridge.

The Shrewsbury head coach has challenged his players to put their memories of Wednesday night's clash to bed.

"It's all about the boys," he said. "I want them to believe that we can put this defeat to bed. That's really important to me.

"We go there knowing exactly what we need to do. We need to start getting points on the board. So a victory would be very welcome."

Town will be missing Mal Benning and Aaron Pierre for the clash against Gary Monk's team, who lost to Reading earlier this week.

But Ainsworth says Town are making positive progress on the injury front and could welcome players back into the squad for the game.

"The injuries are really good at the moment," he continued. "So that's brilliant to see. Morgan Feeney's been training with us now for a week. So again, he'll be definitely in contention.

"George Nurse is an accomplished player and a warrior as well. So I'm looking forward to seeing what these boys can give me."In front of them, there are options to change the team up again.

"So I'll be pitting my wits against Cambridge on the video, seeing what selection I think would hurt them. But also we've got to be solid. We've got to stop conceding goals and that's big."
